VfL Wolfsburg had taken an early lead through Wout Weghorst in the 12th minute, but Lewandowski's goals turned the game on its head.

The win moved Bayern seven points clear of Borussia Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga table, with just four games remaining in the season.

Lewandowski's performance was the latest in a string of impressive displays from the striker, who has now scored 34 goals in all competitions this season.

He is the Bundesliga's leading scorer and is on course to break the record for most goals in a single season, which is currently held by Gerd Muller with 40 goals.
